Summary

Bottom Line – Beer experimentation from a friendly owner/brewer, taking place in a really beautiful space filled with plants and relaxing vibes.

Cursus Keme is a little off the beaten path in Asheville but it is super close to another really good brewery…and it is TOTALLY worth going. They are doing some weird stuff with the beer there – as you can see from the pictures. One was an IPA that was meant to be all foam and you drink it like a shot, and the other was a super Nitro porter. Both of them were really good, but just meant as examples of unique experiences. We had a few standard fare as well, including a West Coast IPA and a Lager that were both very good. There is care in the craft. The menu was certainly a little unusual, but it wasn’t small. I wouldn’t classify the selection as huge though. There isn’t really food offerings except some snack stuff but no big deal in the afternoon. I absolutely loved the feel of the space. Plants everywhere with big wood furniture. It was a very peaceful feeling, which was probably enhanced by the fact that we were some of the only degenerates there. We spoke for a while, off and on, with the brewer/owner. It might have been the longest conversation I’ve ever had with a brewer and it was lovely. We talked about Texas and North Carolina, and beer, and traveling, and fishing. It was great. I will never forget our experience here and when we go back to Asheville, we we will absolutely come back.
