Summary

Bottom Line – Strong reputation for a reason. Big menu with good beers, good food and a lot of outdoor space.

Blood Brothers was my second stop in Toronto and it was generally what I expected. The menu was a good size and I tried three beers of various styles. The lager and IPA I thought we were both very good, but the Stout left a bit to be desired in my opinion. That Poutine though…excellent. I had poutine at one other place, and this was easily superior. I saw some of the other food, which also looked really good. They just opened up all the doors and windows. The weather was nice so I didn’t mind that. It’s a good size place with outdoor tables flanking the edges all the way around. I didn’t see anything unique specifically from an experience standpoint, but the place was nice. Pricing was fine, but I would’ve liked a little more flexibility on what things I could get half of considering flights were not available. Last, but importantly, the service was slow to start. I didn’t get my first beer until about 10 minutes after sitting down. I don’t have a really high bar, but to me that is around the line of regular versus slow. The server who did eventually come was really nice, but I had to knock the score a little bit. Overall, I’m glad I went and I thought the beers were a mix of fine and great. I may go back next time but only if it was convenient.
